Don’t leave your dog in the car…Or your child!

Yesterday was the hottest day in Britain so far this year and while some got to go out and enjoy it, the heat seemed to be unbearable for most of us stuck indoors.

In conditions like this staying cool and hydrated is vital but around mid-day yesterday police were called to Watford shopping centre, as a woman left a child in her car whilst she was out shopping.
The child was in the car for over 40 minutes with the outside temperature above 30C!

When the police turned up they were able to get the child out safely and track down the child’s guardian to have a word with her.

The RSPCA have also stated there has been a rise of incoming phone calls regarding dogs left in cars, caravans and conservatories in excessive heat!

The RSPCA website states: “A car can become as hot as an oven very quickly, even when it doesn’t feel that warm. When it’s 22 degrees, in a car it can reach an unbearable 47 degrees within the hour.”

Please Do Not leave any Animals or Children in the car even if the windows are open and the vehicle is in the shade.
